Flip Kirby

Flip Kirby was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and raised in the historic Sacramento neighborhood of Del Paso Heights.
After discovering a passion for music early, Flip began playing drums in church. He was alongside professionals at 12 years old.
By the time he finished high school, he was already an experienced drummer. He moved to Los Angeles hoping to be closer to opportunity. His dream was put to the test during this season.
Flip auditioned to play for R&B great Stephanie Mills when he was 19. She was the first major artist to hire him as a touring drummer in 1984. Ironically, his first show with Stephanie brought him back to Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry on his birthday.
Flip went on to travel the world with famous acts like Bobby Brown, SWV, Wayman Tisdale, Silk, and many more. His career also includes platinum success as a music producer. Flip is featured in popular music videos and tv shows.
Seeing a need in his hometown, In 2006 Flip founded MINKH with his wife Jasmine Kirby to give youth access to musical instruments and music lessons.
